Kim designed the stage show for Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand's 2015 Right Words Right Action tour. The design -loosely- a digital reworking of Russian artist and thinker Kazimir Malevich's 1914 Victory Over the Sun opera, the acclaimed show design incorporated projected video, lighting, costume, and set pieces. Light-responsive set materials and the inventive use of set technology characterised the show. Formally and tonally the show drew on the reduced colour palette and forms of Russian Suprematism - which inspired the band's early aesthetic – rather than the endless formal and tonal possibilities of 21st Century lighting and video technology.
